BIO
Elizabeth Heaney, MA, LPC
When I began my clinical training back in the early 1980’s, I had the good fortune of learning from mentors who were extremely gifted in the art and practice of psychotherapy. These remarkable therapists taught me clinical techniques, but they also taught me about the importance of sincerely caring about the clients I work with. I couldn’t have had a better introduction to the field of counseling, and I’ve loved my work ever since. Over the years, I maintained a very successful private practice in Tucson, Arizona where I lived for twenty-six years before moving to the Asheville area in 2012. I worked with a broad spectrum of clients and issues, and spent many years training therapists – teaching in graduate counseling programs and offering clinical workshops and trainings through my practice. I’ve led case consultation groups where experienced therapists can continue to hone their skills. It’s been so fulfilling to work in all these different ways in a field I feel passionate about. |
